Congratulations to St Joseph’s Primary School, Charlestown who were recently commended by the Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT (CCSP) for their commitment to family, school and community partnerships for learning.

St Joseph’s Primary School received a Commended award from the state’s peak parent body, with the judges stating they were very impressed by the way that the whole school community is involved in St Joseph’s Writing Fair, including families and even former students.

“The school demonstrated that the project is a genuinely collaborative partnership between families, the school and the broader community as a shared celebration of creativity and learning through writing. Families play an integral role by supporting their children’s writing efforts at home and actively participating in the event,” a judge of the CCSP’s Roger O’Sullivan Award commented. 

We acknowledge the efforts of the St Joseph’s staff who initiated this collaborative event, which strengthens the schools’ connection with families and St Mary’s Catholic College and reinforces the idea that learning is a lifelong process that is enriched by the perspectives and contributions of others.
