Templates for schools to support communication with families- Week at a glance template
Dear Principals
How many times have students, and their families told you that they didn’t know an event was coming up or, that they had completely forgotten about important activities you have planned?
Lots, I am sure!
To help combat this, some of our schools have introduced (with great success) a ‘Week at a glance’ visual reminder for families. So, if you haven’t already considered this practice, but are inspired to take it on, you’ll be pleased to know a template has already been created to help get your started.
The template is attached to this edition of Connect (click here), and available to staff at any time on the Family Engagement tile on SharePoint page (School Improvement > Family Engagement > Templates).
While it is not mandatory for Schools to implement the Week at Glance in your school community, you are encouraged to consider its use as valuable tool in building communication and relationship with families (it may also save your school administration team a few calls and emails)!
The Week at A Glance template is designed to be:
- customised by each school community.
- used on social media and/ or in Compass
- provided to families on a routine basis, ideally on a Friday-Sunday, with timely and straightforward prompts for the week ahead
Please be advised that:
- Parts that are highlighted MUST be customised.
- You may contact the Communications team via Service@MN to seek support in customising the template with your school’s logos and a few select pictures. Then, all you will need to do is update the text each week.
Finaly, if there are other templates you would like to see developed to assist your staff to build relationships with parents and carers, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
